Forfeit Savior Rule

NAPA of Central Missouri Billiard League

NAPA has instituted the Forfeit Savior Rule.  It is VOLUNTARY for the leagues.  Jeff City elected not to do it.  However, Moberly elected to do it.  I think it is a good thing but there are possible areas of abuse.  It works this way.  If Team A is short and has played all their players for the night they can tell Team B they want a Forfeit Savior.  Team B chooses one player on Team A to play twice.  Team B can choose anyone on their team, even someone who has already played.  However, the player chosen from Team A cannot put the team over the team handicap.  If no player is possible then Team A forfeits.  If Team B refuses to pick someone then Team A gets the foreit points.  So ALWAYS pick the player.  One problem is with number of times someone plays.  This could give them an advantage in points for MVP.  One option is to not count any points earned in a Forfeit Savior towards MVP.  Also you can make it that no points from forfeit or Forfeit Savior can be used in the calculations for MVP.  This would be my choice.  Great things coming in NAPA!!
