NAPA CAPTAIN'S DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

If you have been a captain before this will seem very easy and familiar.  If you are a new captain here are your responsibilities.

1. Recruit a team with no more than 260 skill level on a 4 person team. 325 for a 5 person team and 195 for a 3 person team.

2. Bring paperwork received from email (weekly scratch and competition sheet).  Not necessary when we do live scoring.

3. Home team
a. Determines which bar table(s)
to shoot on.  If two tables are available then both tables are encouraged to be used for match play.
b. Determines which team chooses first player to shoot.

4. Determine which of your players will play. Each player for their game will LAG for the break.  The winner of the lag must
break unless playhing the Lagger's choice format.

5. The Home team keeps the electronic scoring unless both teams agree on the non-home team to keep score.  It is the responsibility of BOTH teams to monitor the outcome and make sure it is correct.

6. Collect team dues
.

  • If you are NOT in the Columbia leauge ONLY put only checks for the dues in the envelope. One person can write a check or each person can write a check but NO CASH.  Payable to NAPA or NAPA of Central Missouri.

  • If you are in the Columbia league you can put cash in the envelope and give to me where I am playing, bring it to my house or drop it off at D&D Pub and Grill.  You can also mail it to me.

  • Mailing address is:  NAPA of Central Missouri, 4180 E. Lang Drive, Columbia MO  65202
  • You can also pay by Paypal.  Sometimes teams forget. Sometimes it is for other reasons.  Sometimes the weekly dues are carried on to the following week. In an effort to reduce this percentage and to make it easier and safer for teams to pay, you can now pay with paypal.  This is entirely voluntary.

There is no charge
for using Paypal if you "Send to a Friend" but you must have your bank account tied to Paypal.  It can save you time, gas, and postage.  It will also allow you to pay quicker, easier, safer, and more convenient. Only you can determine how valuable your time is or how much gas you can save.  You will have a record of what you paid and when you paid it.  Make sure you put which team(s) the dues are for.

The paypal address to send it to is missouri.napa@gmail.com (note the period between missouri and napa)
.  You can do this anytime and is entirely voluntary.

7. Put the dues
from your team and, if the other team allows, in the envelope. Paypal is also available for those that want to use it.  Be sure to compare results for accuracy. If there are mistakes NAPA will not correct them after one week has passed.

8. Put checks from your team and the opposing team in an envelope.

9. Mail the envelope EARLY the next day.

10.  The team captain is NOT responsible for paying any dues associated with forfeits.  The TEAM is responsible.  The team captain IS responsible for making sure the dues are paid but should NOT pay them alone.

The team captain should also:

1. Be familiar with the rules.
2. Monitor games for fair play and for player fouls.
